Cobleskill Esports Find Their Stride in ECAC & SUNY Leagues

Call of Duty extend their win streak to four games

Cobleskill, NY:  The Fighting Tigers esports teams are in full swing in both the SUNY and ECAC leagues.

This fall the Tigers are fielding teams in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (two teams), Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (4 teams), EA FC 24 (four teams) and Overwatch 2. They will be competing in the competitive SUNY Esports League and ECAC Esports League.
 
The Call of Duty team of Treelee Edmund (Bronx, NY), Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY), Ajani Simpson (Springfield Gardens, NY), Aaron Smith, Rennie Stockton (Manhattan, NY) and Akeem Thompson (Mount Vernon, NY) are on a four-game win streak between the SUNY league and ECAC league.  In the SUNY league, it was Edmund, Odom, Simpson, Smith and Stockton that collected clean sweeps over SUNY Brockport and University of Albany 3-0. 
 
In the ECAC league, it was Edmunds, Odom, Smith and Thompson that dominated Elmira College 3-0 for the team's first win of the season.  The following week Stockton stepped in for Thompson and the Fighting Tigers defeated Carroll University 3-0 to push their win streak to two games.
 
Call of Duty is now 3-2 on the season in the SUNY League.  Their next matchup is on Thursday, October 26th at 8:00 p.m.
 
Call of Duty is now 2-1 in the ECAC League, their first match is Friday, October 27th at 8:00 p.m. against Randolph-Macon College.
 
The Cobleskill Overwatch 2 team continued to battle their way through the tough competition in the ECAC Contenders Divison (Diamond - Masters). The team of Sean Mangual (Manhattan, NY), Kip Brownstein (Cohoes, NY), Lucas Williams (Brooklyn, NY), Matthew Ayala (Bronx, NY), Jack Spugnardi (Boston, MA), Malik Tingle (Poughkeepsie, NY) and Michael Amoateng (Bronx, NY) fell to Stockton University, Dallas Baptist and Caldwell University over the last weeks in highly competitive matches.
 
Overwatch is now 0-4 on the season in the ECAC League.  Their next matchup is against Neumann University on Wednesday, October 25th at 8:00 p.m.
 
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has four teams competing in the SUNY League. Matthew Nikolaus (Middleburgh, NY) will be the SSB Team A this season and went 2-4 in the fifth week defeating Purchase College (2-0) and Morrisville State (2-0). He sits at 12-12 overall on the season.  Christopher Outman (Rushford, NY) is representing SSB Team B for the Tigers and finished 2-3 on the night picking up wins against Cobleskill Team D (2-1) and SUNY Fredonia (2-0).  Outman is currently 7-17 overall.
 
Chad Edwards (Brooklyn, NY) finished 3-3, picking up wins against North County Community College (2-0), SUNY Brockport (2-0) and Cobleskill Team D (2-1).  Edwards is currently 10-15 overall.  Freshman Riley Mercera (Rye Brook, NY) went 2-4 on the controller last Thursday night with wins over SUNY Orange (2-0) and SUNY Morrisville (2-0).  Mercera is currently 9-16 overall.
 
Super Smash Bros. will be in action this Thursday, October 26th at 8:00 p.m.
 
The Tigers returned to EA FC 24 action earlier in the month.  Cobleskill will be represented by returners Saro Karageozian (Colonie, NY) and Derek Streeter (Utica, NY) and by newcomers Conor Flanigan (Troy, NY) and John Espinoza (Ossining, NY).
 
Saro (EA FC B) sits at 2-2 after picking up wins against Radford University and the University of Delaware.  Streeter (EA FC A) leads the Tigers with a 3-1 overall record as he racked up wins against Hood College, Radford University and George Washington University.
 
Newcomers Conor Flanigan (EA FC C) defeated Central Maine Community College and SUNY Empire for a 2-2 record.  Espinoza found his lone win against Saint Francis University for a 1-3 record.
 
Cobleskill's EA FC 24 teams compete every Monday at 8 p.m.
