Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that junior Cara Walker, Phelps, N.Y., Midlakes High School, a member of the women's basketball team has been named the athletic program's Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending Sunday November 11, 2023.
 
During the week Walker averaged 17.5 points, 11.0 rebounds, 5.0 steals and 3.0 assists per game as the Fighting Tigers opened the season with a pair of non-conference road wins defeating the host Garnett Chargers of Union College in Schenectady on Wednesday evening by a 73-66 margin before traveling to Danbury, Ct. on Sunday afternoon to defeat the Wolves of Western Connecticut State University by a score of 65-54 to open the season at 2-0 overall.
 
Cobleskill will next be in action on Saturday November 18 when they travel to Troy, N.Y. to meet the Engineers of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) for a non-conference contest with tip-off at 2:00 p.m.
