Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's basketball team closed their North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekend road trip on Saturday afternoon by declawing the host Wildcats of Cazenovia College 66-32 in league action. With the win the Fighting Tigers improve to 13-9 overall on the season to date including a 9-3 record in league play while the Wildcats fall to 3-20 overall with a 2-11 record versus NAC opponents.
The Fighting Tigers used a ferocious defensive effort to render Wildcats shooters as cold as the fridge northeastern temperatures as Cobleskill held them to only 12-of-59, 20.3%, while forcing Cazenovia into 24 turnovers on the afternoon.
Senior center
Jordan Finch, East Meredith, N.Y., South Kortright High School, turned in a strong effort for the visitors in the win with 10 points, four rebounds, three blocked shots and three assists while first-year forward/center
Emily Satterday, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, led the team in scoring with 11 points to go with nine rebounds. First-year guard
Talia Washington, Schenectady, N.Y., Schenectady High School, was also a factor in the victory with 10 points and three assists.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Monday February 6 when they once again take to the road for a non-league match-up versus the Continentals of Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Ct. beginning at 5:00 p.m.
