Overwatch and Valorant extend their winning streaks.

Cobleskill, NY: The Fighting Tigers esports teams are in the beginning of their 2023 spring season.  In this season, they are competing in the highly competitive SUNY League and ECAC League.

This spring, the Tigers are fielding teams in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, FIFA 23, NBA2k23, Overwatch 2, Valorant and League of Legends.

SUNY League
The Valorant team of Ryan Hoag (Troy, NY), Ben Kessler (East Northport, NY), Conor Flanigan (Troy, NY), Michael Agati (Pleasantville, NY) and Micky Polsinelli (Rotterdam, NY) continued to stay red hot with a four-game win streak.  They are sitting tied for second in the SUNY league with an overall record of 4-1.  They dominated SUNY Potsdam with a 2-0 win and then overcame an early 1-0 deficient against SUNY New Paltz and came back to win 2-1 with an overtime 14-12 victory in the third game.

There are 20 teams competing in Valorant in the SUNY League this season.  The Tigers will be in action next Wednesday, February 22nd at 7 pm. 

In Call of Duty, the team of Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY), Trelee Edmund (Bronx, NY), Ajani Simpson (Queens, NY), Joseph Wash (Brooklyn, NY) and Jillian Coger (Schuylerville, NY) picked up a win against University of Buffalo last week.  They are currently 1-2 overall in the league.

There are 9 teams competing in Call of Duty in the SUNY League.  The Tigers match up with SUNY Plattsburgh Thursday, March 2nd at 8 pm.  You can catch it on the SUNY Cobleskill Twitch channel.

The Tigers Super Smash Bros. Ultimate teams of James Cerny (New Paltz, NY) and Matthew Nikolaus (Middleburgh, NY) are battling in the first few weeks of the season.  Cerny has an overall record of 2-2 while Nikolaus has started out 1-3 in league action.  Cerny swept SUNY Adirondack in week three before falling to Buffalo State in week four. Nikolaus fell to Suffolk County Community College 3-0 in week three and then dropped a close match to Alfred State  3-2 in week four.

There are 50 teams competing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this season.  They compete every Thursday night at 8 pm!

 
ECAC
Both of the Tigers FIFA23 teams of Derek Streeter (Ilion, NY) and Saro Karageozian (Colonie, NY) saw ups and down in their recent weeks of play. Streeter fell to New York University 2-0 in week four before turning it around and picking up a 2-0 win over Lycoming College in week five. He currently sits at 3-2 overall in the league. Karageozian has hit a tough patching dropping his last two games to Finlandia University and Radford University.  He is 2-3 overall so far this season.

There are 127 players competing in FIFA23 in the ECAC League this season.  The Tigers compete in FIFA23 every Monday night at 8 pm.

In Call of Duty, the same team of Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY), Trelee Edmund (Bronx, NY), Ajani Simpson (Springfield Gardens, NY) and Joseph Wash (Brooklyn, NY) have started 1-2 in the ECAC. They fell in week three to a talented Juniata College team 3-0 and then again to Albany Pharmacy in week four.

There are 43 teams competing in Call of Duty in the ECAC League.  The Tigers next matchup is against University of Bridgeport Friday, March 3rd at 8 pm. 

One of hottest teams in the program right now is Overwatch.  The team of Sean Mangual (Manhattan, NY), Faith Montie (Ashland, NY), Lucas Williams (Brooklyn, NY), Kip Brownstein (Cohoes, NY), Eddie Lopez (West Haverstraw, NY) Ajani Simpson (Queens, NY) and Brenden Sandstorm (Port Jefferson, NY) have turned their season around with a two-game win streak. They are currently 2-3 overall in the league after shutting out both Long Island University and Keuka College in the last two weeks.

The Tigers are competing in Division C of the ECAC League.  Division C has 49 teams in competition and matches are every Wednesday night at 8 pm.

The Tigers NBA2K23 player Joseph Wash (Brooklyn, NY) is on a two-game win streak after picking up a pair of wins against Buena Vista University.  So far this season, Wash is 2-3 overall.

There are 29 teams in competition this ECAC season and every game is on Tuesday night at 9 pm.
