Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill softball team returned to action on Tuesday using strong pitching and a powerful offensive attack to sweep a doubleheader from the visiting Broncos of SUNY Delhi by scores of 7-3 and 15-1 in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play at Fighting Tiger Park. With the wins the Fighting Tigers improve to 5-19 overall including a 2-3 record versus league opponents while the Broncos drop to 3-27 on the year with a 0-5 mark in conference play.

In the opener the Fighting Tiger played long-ball early as sophomore catcher
Mackenzie Wendelken, Stuyvesant, N.Y., Ichabod Crane High School, blasted a two-run homer in the first inning followed by a solo homer in the third inning off the bat of junior first baseman
Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua High School, to take a 4-0 lead from which they would never look back.

Senior right hander
Marissa Wheeler, Kinderhook, N.Y., Ichabod Crane High School, went the distance allowing two earned runs on seven hits striking out six and walking two to improve to 5-10 on the year.

Offensively, Cobleskill was led by
Mackenzie Wendelken who went 2-for-4 with a homer a run scored and two RBI and
Alexis Miranda who was also 2-for-4 with the homer.
Marissa Wheeler helped her own cause by going 3-ror-4 with a double and an RBI while junior third baseman Deanna Palmer, Auburn, N.Y., Auburn High School, was 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored.

In the nightcap, the Fighting Tigers scored early, often and continuously to record the victory pounding out 17 hits including six for extra bases.

The Cobleskill hit parade was led by once again led by the duo of first baseman
Mackenzie Wendelken who went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and five RBI and left fielder
Alexis Miranda who was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and three RBI.

EmmaRae Easton, Coudersport, Pa., Couderspot High School, was also a factor at the plate for the home team going 3-for-3 with a double, a triple, a stolen base, three runs scored and an RBI as was sophomore designated player
Olivia DeMott, Sidney, N.Y., Sidney High School, who went 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI.

Kimberly Olsen, Schoharie, N.Y., Schoharie High School, used the lead to her advantage going the distance to record her first collegiate win by allowing only one run on six hits on the day.
