Waterville, Maine: The SUNY Cobleskill women's outdoor track & field team has been ranked fifth in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Pre-Outdoor Championships Coaches Poll. The Fighting Tigers will be looking to improve on their 2022 NAC Outdoor Championships sixth place finish.
According to Head Coach Zach Haskin the Fighting Tigers despite being young will be a much deeper and more talented than last year's squad.
"This is our deepest and most diversified roster and I'm looking forward to our young jumping corps leading us in scoring. We also have several of our individuals close to hitting post season qualifying marks so I'm looking forward to seeing how that plays out."
The Fighting Tigers will be led by several performers who have posted impressive individual efforts during the year including sophomore sprinter/jumper
Lilah Ward, Arlington, Vt., Arlington High School, first-year hurdler/jumper Lily Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, and multi-event event performers sophomore Hayleigh Girard, Hudson Falls, N.Y., Hudson Falls High School, and first-year
Jessica Carney, Hopkinton, N.H., Hopkinton High School.
Cobleskill will also be looking for scoring efforts in the distance events from sophomore
Jenna Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, and sophomore
Katherine Ledermann, Altamont, N.Y., Guilderland High School, and from first-year thrower
Dory Gosselin, Whitehall, N.Y., Whitehall High School.
The 2023 NAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be hosted by Thomas College, Husson University and the University of Maine-Farmington on Saturday April 29 and Sunday April 30 at Colby College's Alfond Track in Waterville, Maine.
