Cobleskill Esports Sets A New Program Record As They Head Into Playoffs

The Tigers have a program high nine teams going to ECAC and SUNY playoffs

Cobleskill, NY: The Fighting Tigers esports team set a new program record with nine teams qualifying for the postseason. Cobleskill will send a program record five teams to the ECAC Playoffs and will have players competing in FIFA23, NBA2K23, Overwatch 2 and Call of Duty.  For the SUNY League, the Tigers Valorant, Super Smash Bros. and Call of Duty team all earned a playoff berth in the competitive SUNY League.

The Valorant team of Ryan Hoag (Troy, NY), Ben Kessler (East Northport, NY), Conor Flanigan (Troy, NY), Michael Agati (Pleasantville, NY) and Micky Polsinelli (Rotterdam, NY) ended the season 5-3 overall and are waiting for their first-round matchup to be announced later this week.

There are 20 teams competing in Valorant for the SUNY League this season.  The Tigers will be in action next Wednesday, April 12th at 8 pm in the first round of the SUNY Playoffs.

In Call of Duty, the team of Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY), Trelee Edmund (Bronx, NY), Ajani Simpson (Queens, NY), Joseph Wash (Brooklyn, NY) and Jillian Coger (Schuylerville, NY) finished the season on a two-game win streak which helped them clinch a playoff spot with a 4-3 record. This is their second straight playoff appearance this year.

There are nine teams competing in Call of Duty in the SUNY League.  The Tigers will wait for the first-round matchup to be announced late this week.

The Tigers Super Smash Bros. Ultimate teams of James Cerny (New Paltz, NY) and Matthew Nikolaus (Middleburgh, NY) each earned a playoff bid in their second straight season.  Both teams finished the spring season with an overall record of 4-4.

There are 50 teams competing in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this season.  Both teams will be competing in the SUNY League playoffs starting next week.

 
ECAC
With an impressive regular season, both of the Tigers FIFA23 teams of Derek Streeter (Ilion, NY) and Saro Karageozian (Colonie, NY) have earned a first-round bye in the ECAC playoffs. Streeter and Karageoszian finished their season with a 5-3 record. Heading into the postseason, ECAC announced that Streeter will be the 32nd seed in the 2023 FIFA23 ECAC Tournament and Karageozian is the 39th seed.

There are 127 players competing in FIFA23 in the ECAC League this season.  The ECAC playoffs start this Monday at 10 pm, which will see Streeter facing 33rd seeded Seton Hill in the second round and Karageozian against 26th seeded Lycoming College.

In Call of Duty, the team of Nazaire Odom (Queens, NY), Trelee Edmund (Bronx, NY), Ajani Simpson (Springfield Gardens, NY) and Joseph Wash (Brooklyn, NY) earned an ECAC Tournament bid in their first season in the league. They finished with a 4-3 overall record and will be seeded 21st heading into tournament time.

There are 43 teams competing in Call of Duty in the ECAC League.  The Tigers next matchup is against St. Mary University on Friday, April 7th at 8 PM in the first round of the ECAC playoffs.

After ending their regular season on a five-game win streak, the Overwatch 2 team of Sean Mangual (Manhattan, NY), Faith Montie (Ashland, NY), Lucas Williams (Brooklyn, NY), Kip Brownstein (Cohoes, NY), Eddie Lopez (West Haverstraw, NY) Ajani Simpson (Queens, NY) and Brenden Sandstorm (Port Jefferson, NY) ended their season with a 5-3 overall record.  They earned a playoff bid in their first season in the ECAC and will head into the postseason as the 19th seed.

The Tigers are competing in Division C of the ECAC League.  Division C has 49 teams in competition and matches are every Wednesday night at 8 pm.  They will face 14th seeded Stockton University in the first round of the ECAC playoff.

The Tigers send their first ever NBA2K23 player into the ECAC playoffs.  Joseph Wash (Brooklyn, NY) finished the regular season 4-4 and earned a playoff berth as the #15 seed in his first season in the ECAC.

There are 29 teams in competition this ECAC season and every game is on Tuesday night at 9 pm. Wash will face #2 seed Cumberland University in the first round.
