SUNY Cobleskill Men's Track & Field Places Fifth at NAC Outdoor Championship Meet

Fighting Tiger Men's Track & Field Brings Home Fifth Place Finish From NAC Outdoor Championships


Waterville, Maine: The SUNY Cobleskill men's track & field team posted a team total of 59 points to place fifth overall in a field of eight teams at the 2023 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Thomas College, the University of Maine-Farmington and Husson University at Colby College over the weekend. The Fighting Tigers brought home one conference championship and three all-conference efforts from the championship meet.
 
Junior distance runner Nick Logan, Queensbury, N.Y., Queensbury High School, captured the NAC Championship in the 1500-Meter Run to earn All-NAC in a conference record time of 4:02.90 while also finishing third overall in the 800-Meter Run with a time of 1:59.60.
 
Cobleskill also received an All-NAC effort from sophomore multi-event athlete Michael Masocco, Eden, N.Y., Eden High School, in the Pole Vault placing second overall by clearing a height of 11'1 ¾" from first-year sprinter Charlie Foote, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, who placed second in the 400-Meter Dash in a time of 50.32 seconds.
 
The Orange & Black also received scoring efforts from first-year multi-event athlete Kameron Cusmano, Oakfield, N.Y., Oakfield-Alabama High School, who placed third overall in the 110-Meter Hurdles in a time of 16.75 seconds and fourth in the High Jump clearing a height of 5'8", first-year sprinter Jeffery Alvarado, Amsterdam, N.Y., Amsterdam High School, who placed seventh in the 200-Meter Dash in 24.62 seconds and in the 3000-Meter Steeplechase by first-year distance runners Nik Recore, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, who placed fifth in a time of 10:48.93 and Jacob Rhinesmith, Sommerset, N.J., Nation Ford High School (S.C.), who placed sixth in a time of 10:49.41.
 
First-year thrower Cal Marks, Wellsburg, N.Y., Elmira High School, was also a multiple event scorer at the championship meet placing fourth in the Hammer Throw with a mark of 127'6", and seventh in the Discus with a mark of 120'1".
 
Cobleskill will next be in action when qualified team members will compete at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. on Wednesday May 17 beginning at 12:00 p.m. and Thursday May 18 starting at 10:00 a.m.
