Waterville, Maine: The SUNY Cobleskill women's track & field team posted a team total of 58 points to place fifth overall in a field of eight teams at the 2023 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by Thomas College, the University of Maine-Farmington and Husson University at Colby College over the weekend. The Fighting Tigers brought home one conference championship and three all-conference efforts from the championship meet.
 
Fighting Tiger sophomore jumper Lilah Ward, Arlington, Vt., Arlington High School, captured the High Jump at the event to earn All-NAC honorees by clearing a height of 4'11 ¾" while posting scoring efforts in the 100-Meter Dash by placing third in a time of 13.23 seconds and sixth in the 200-Meter Dash in a time of 29.56 seconds.
 
Cobleskill also received strong efforts from first-year multi-event athlete Lilly Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, who earned All-NAC honors placing second in the 100-Meter Hurdles in a time of 16.88 seconds while finishing fourth in the Triple Jump with a mark of 31'4 ½" and from first-year sprinter/jumper Shealinn Stevens, Otego, N.Y., Unatego High School, who earned All-NAC honors in the Long Jump placing second with a mark of 15'3 ½" to go with a seventh place finish in the High Jump by clearing a height of 4'4".
 
The Fighting Tigers also received scoring efforts in the mid-distance events from sophomore Jenna Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, who placed fifth in the 1500-Meter Run in a time of 5:24.62 and sixth in the 800-Meter Run in a time of 2:39.39 and from sophomore Katherine Ledermann, Altamont, N.Y., Guilderland High School, who placed sixth in the 1500-Meter Run in a time of 5:25.38 and seventh in the 800-Meter Run in 2:40.49.
 
Sophomore sprinter/hurdler Hayleigh Girard, Hudson Falls, N.Y., Hudson Falls High School, also turned in a scoring effort in the 100-Meter Hurdles in a time of 17.36 seconds.
 
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action when qualified team members will compete at the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Conference Outdoor Championships hosted by Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pa. on Wednesday May 17 beginning at 12:00 p.m. and Thursday May 18 starting at 10:00 a.m.
