Utica, NY: The Cobleskill women's indoor track and field team posted several strong performances as they finished 11
th overall out of 18 teams at the Utica Fast Trax Invite on Saturday.
Freshman
Julia Aiello (Carmel, NY) was the Fighting Tigers top performer on the track as she had a record breaking day. In the 60-meter dash prelims, Aiello set a new program record with a time of 8.32 seconds which earned her a place in the finals. Then in the finals, she once again broke the 60-meter record with a time of 8.29 seconds for a seventh place finish. In the 400 meters, Aiello finished sixth overall with a time of 1:02.67.
Fellow freshman distance runner
Lilianna Peters (Hinsdale, NY/ Allegany-Limestone) placed seventh in the 3000 meters with a time of 10:57.31 to earn the Fighting Tigers two points. Her teammate Katherine Ledermann (Altamont, NY/ Guilderland) finished 19
th in the race with a time of 12:00.01. Ledermann also placed 28
th in the mile with a time of 6:01.66.
In the high jump,
Lilah Ward (Arlington, VT) was the Tigers top overall finisher of the invite as she jumped 1.47 meters (4-9 ¾) for third overall. Freshman
Bethanie Becker (Millers Pace, NY) finished sixth overall in the event with a height of 1.47 meters (4-9 ¾).
Sophomore thrower
Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) led the way as the Fighting Tigers top thrower at the Fast Trax Invite. She placed 21
st overall in shot put with a throw of 8.43 meters (27-8) and 25
th in the weight throw with a distance of 8.95 meters (29-4 ½).
