Clinton, NY: The Cobleskill women's indoor track and field team opened their outdoor season competing at the Hamilton Outdoor Invitational on Saturday at the Pritchard Track which saw a new program record by freshman
Julia Aiello.
The talented speedster
Julia Aiello (Carmel, NY) broke the 100-meter program record with a time of 12.91 seconds for a third place finish. Aiello followed her record-breaking performance with an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters clocking a time of 26.80 seconds against some tough winds.
Bethanie Becker (Millers Place, NY) and sophomore
Lilly Swyers (Peru, NY) turned in a solid performance against some tough conditions in the 100 meter hurdles for the Fighting Tigers. Swyers led Cobleskill with a sixth place finish with a time of 16.99 seconds while Becker finished 11
th out of 25 runners with a time of 17.52 seconds.
Lilianna Peters (Hinsdale, NY/Allegany-Limestone) was the Tigers top finisher in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:14.06 for an eight place finish. Teammate
Alyssa Freeguard (Argyle, NY) finished 21
st in the race with a time of 5:37.88.
Junior jumper
Lilah Ward (Arlington, VT) placed fourth in the high jump with the height of 1.47 meters (4-9 ¾). Sophomore thrower
Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) used her second throw of 27.03 meters (88-8) for an 18
th place finish out of 40 throwers.
