Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team returned to Fighting Tiger Park on Wednesday afternoon to split a non-league doubleheader with the visiting Gators of Russell Sage College winning the opener by a 12-4 margin then dropping the finale by a score of 4-1. With the split the Fighting Tigers move to 16-14 overall on the year while the Gators are now 10-22 overall on the campaign.
In the first game the Fighting Tigers used the long ball pounding out three home runs as senior first baseman
Alexis Miranda, Nashua, N.H., Nashua High School, hit a three-run homer in the second inning, junior shortstop
Kailee DiGiacco, Spencerport, N.Y., Spencerport High School, hit a two-run homer in the third inning and first-year designated player
Gianna Guido, Clifton Park, N.Y., Shenendehowa High School, who belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning to secure the victory.
Fighting Tiger junior starter
Jaydaci Chamberlain, Northborough, Mass., Norfolk Agricultural High School, picked up the victory to improve to 8-2 overall after allowing three earned runs on 10 hits striking out four and allowing no walks.
In the nightcap Cobleskill hitters struggled to find an answer for Gator sophomore right hander Leah Madore, Williamsville, Vt., Brattleboro Union High School, who fanned 10 Fighting Tiger hitters allowing one earned run on four hits.

Deanna Palmer, Auburn, N.Y., Auburn High School/Finger Lakes Community College, drove in the lone Cobleskill run with a single in the sixth inning as part of a 1-for-3 day at the plate. First baseman
Alexis Miranda was also 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored in the loss.
Cobleskill will next be in action over the weekend when they host conference rival SUNY Morrisville for a pair of doubleheaders at Fighting Tiger Park starting on Friday May 3 beginning at 3:00 p.m. followed on Saturday May 4 with a pair of games beginning at 12:00 p.m.
