Fighting Tiger Women's Basketball Taylor Meacham Named Sportswoman-of-the-Year

Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that senior Taylor Meacham, Berne, N.Y., Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School, a member of the women's basketball team has been named the athletic program's 2023-24 Sportswoman-of-the-Year. The award is given to the Fighting Tiger female student-athlete who by his action on the playing field, in the classroom and in the campus community has exemplified the code of sportsmanship and leadership.

According to Fighting Tiger Head Women's Basketball Coach Megan Bowman, Meacham has demonstrated what it takes to become a successful student-athlete and integrate herself into the campus community.

"Taylor has the unique ability to be both the fiercest competitor while also remaining true to who she is and the upmost professional. She does not let her passion to win and be successful trump the culture of both our Cobleskill community and mission and values of the NAC. She has been a tremendous leader for our program both on the hardwood and in the classroom and defines the concept "student-athlete".

During the 2023-24 season the Berne-Knox-Westerlo alumnus enjoyed her finest season to date averaging 8.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.9 blocked shots per contest while shooting 42.2% from the field and 74.5% from the free throw line as the Fighting Tigers posted their finest season at the NCAA level of competition going 25-2 overall including a 12-0 record in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play to capture the NAC Western Division Championship.
