Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department has named first-year women's track and field jumper
Anneliese Klein (Carlisle, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) as the Fighting Tiger Athlete of the Week for the period ending February 23, 2025.
Klein set a school record in the long jump at the Utica Fast Trax Invitational, winning the event with a leap of 5.33 meters (17'6"), besting the previous school record of 5.29 meters which was held by Sashoye Wilson in 2005. Her mark not only secured first place but also met the regional qualifying standard. She also placed eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.88 seconds.
The Fighting Tigers will compete next at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by SUNY Brockport this Friday.
