Waterville, ME: The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced its women's basketball all-conference teams for the 2024-25 season, with a program-record four SUNY Cobleskill players receiving recognition, as voted on by the league's coaches.
The Fighting Tigers had two players named to the NAC First Team, one to the Second Team, and another to the Third Team, marking the most all-conference selections in program history. Senior standouts
Logan Thayne (Hoosick Falls, NY) and
Antonia May (Amsterdam, NY) earned First Team honors, while fellow senior
Cara Walker (Phelps, NY/Midlakes) was selected to the Second Team. Senior guard
Taylor Meacham (Berne, NY/Berne-Knox Westerlo) rounded out the group with a Third Team selection.
Head women's basketball coach
Megan Bowman expressed pride in her team's achievement.
"Having four all-conference players on one team is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and depth of talent across our roster. Each of these players has put the team's success ahead of individual accolades, and while all-conference recognition often highlights individual performance, this group is most proud of what it represents for our program as a whole."
This is Thayne's second consecutive First Team All-NAC selection after another dominant season. She's currently tied for the most double-double in all of NCAA Division III with 24Â while averaging 18.9 points, 12.6 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and 1.7 assists per game while connecting for 46.8 percent from the field, 83.5 percent from the free-throw line, and 36.6 percent from three-point range. Over the course of the season, Thayne was named NAC Player of the Week seven times and Defensive Player of the Week once. Thayne was also named the NAC Player of the Year for the second straight season.
May was instrumental in helping the Tigers secure their second straight West Division Championship. She is averaging 14.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks per game while shooting 39.6 percent from the field and 83.5 percent from the free-throw line, tying for the NAC lead in free-throw percentage. She also ranked third in the conference in blocks per game.
Coach Bowman praised Thayne and May for their leadership and impact.
"Our team's success isn't just about individual talent—it's about the way our players work together and elevate each other. Having Thayne and May named to the First Team is a great representation of that. They've been relentless on both ends of the floor, ranking among the NAC's top performers in nearly every category. What sets them apart is their ability to adjust to any defensive scheme, making the right reads not just for themselves but for the team."
Walker earned Second Team All-NAC honors despite missing time early in the season. For the season, she's averaging 11.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.0 steal per game while earning NAC Player of the Week and a spot on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
Meacham, receiving her first all-conference recognition, was named to the Third Team after a career-best season. The senior is averaging 10.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game while leading the NAC in field goal percentage at 51.7 percent. Meacham was also named the NAC Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Coach Bowman emphasized the impact of Walker and Meacham, praising their contributions on both ends of the court.
"Walker and Meacham are the glue of our team, often doing the little things that don't always show up on the stat sheet. Walker has delivered some of her best performances on the biggest stage, and Taylor has established herself as one of the toughest guards in the league. Their versatility, ability to defend multiple positions, and scoring at all three levels make them a nightmare for opponents."
Rounding out the honors, senior
Amber MacNeil (Hoosick Falls, NY) was named to the 2024-25 NAC Women's Basketball Sportsmanship Team. This recognition is awarded to players who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship, integrity, and leadership beyond the game itself.
"Amber is one of the most competitive and hardworking athletes I've ever coached, yet she has never sacrificed who she is as a person," Bowman said. "She carries herself with respect for her teammates, opponents, and coaches in every interaction. Her positivity, perseverance, and dedication set an example for everyone around her and have left a lasting impact on our program."
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday, March 1, hosting Maine Maritime at 1:00 p.m. in the NAC Championship at SUNY Cobleskill.
