Cobleskill Women Finish Strong at SUNYAC Indoor Championships

Anneliese Klein leads Tigers with a fourth place finish in the long jump

Brockport, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's indoor track and field team tied for 10th place at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by SUNY Brockport.

On the opening day of competition, first-year thrower Adira-Virginia Greer-Padilla (Fallsburg, NY) recorded the team's top finish, placing ninth in the weight throw with a toss of 12.48 meters (40-11 ½), just shy of a scoring position. Teammate Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) also competed in the event, finishing 18th with a mark of 10.96 meters (35-11 ½).

On the track, Alyssa Freeguard (Argyle, NY) placed 14th in the 5000 meters, clocking in at 20:58.74. The distance medley relay team of Gillian Miner (Saranac, NY), Madison Binette (Lewiston, ME), Freeguard, and Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY) put together a strong performance, securing seventh place with a time of 14:00.78.

Day two saw first-year jumper Anneliese Klein lead the Tigers with a fourth-place finish in the long jump, narrowly missing a program record with a leap of 5.32 meters (17-5 ½). Fellow first-year Gillian Miner also delivered a scoring effort, placing sixth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:31.72.
