Troy, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's track and field team earned a seventh-place finish on Friday at the RPI Capital District Classic, held at the Ned Harkness Field & Track.
On the track,
Anneliese Klein (Carslie, NY/Cobleskill-Richmondville) placed fourth in the preliminaries of the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.69 seconds before finishing fourth again in the finals in 15.98 seconds.
Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY) turned in a strong showing in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing second in 13:14.59.
Madison Binette (Lewiston, ME) took 15th in the 1500 meters with a time of 5:23.10, while
Gillian Miner (Saranac, NY) placed 12th in the 800 meters in 2:29.38.
In the 400-meter hurdles, Klein added another top finish by placing second in 1:10.42. In distance events,
Alyssa Freeguard (Argyle, NY) placed fifth in the 5000 meters in 20:31.74, just ahead of teammate
Gabrielle Waite, who placed sixth in 21:26.20.
In the field events,
Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) placed 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 33.47 meters (109'-9") and claimed 10th place in the discus with a mark of 29.69 meters (97'-5").
Jessica Carney (Hopkinton, NH) earned a fifth-place finish in the javelin with a throw of 30.58 meters (100'-4").
In the jumps, Klein continued her standout day by placing third in the long jump with a mark of 5.34 meters (17'-6 ¼"), and
Guerna Becker (Fairfield, MT) added a seventh-place finish in the triple jump with a distance of 9.16 meters (30'-0 ¾").
