Cobleskill, N.Y. – SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech has announced the appointment of William Bogue as Interim Head Women's Soccer Coach.
Bogue joins the Fighting Tigers with more than 30 years of coaching experience at the collegiate, high school, and club levels. His coaching résumé includes collegiate head coaching stops at SUNY Adirondack and Bryant & Stratton College, successful tenures at Capital Region high schools including Shaker, Guilderland, Schenectady, and Niskayuna, and his current role as a head coach with FC Dutchmen Premier/Academy.
"I'm extremely excited for the opportunity to lead the SUNY Cobleskill women's soccer program," said Bogue. "My goal is to build a program that our student-athletes, our campus, and our community can be proud of. That starts with creating a strong culture, establishing clear expectations, and helping our players grow both as soccer players and as young women."
"Every player who comes into this program is going to know that she matters, that she has a role, and that we are going to challenge her to become better every day," Bogue continued. "We are going to compete, we are going to work, and we are going to hold each other accountable. Most importantly, we are going to do it together. We have an opportunity to create something special here at Cobleskill, and I'm excited to get started."
A former NCAA Division I student-athlete at Hartwick College, Bogue has built his coaching career around developing student-athletes, building competitive programs, and creating a culture of accountability, preparation, and pride.
Bogue began his collegiate head coaching career at SUNY Adirondack from 2007-09, where he led one of the program's most significant turnarounds. After inheriting a team that finished 1-13 the previous season, he guided the Timberwolves to a 6-6-1 record, the program's first postseason appearance in more than 20 years and first non-losing season in more than 15 years. The team also ranked among the top five scoring programs in Region III, with two players finishing among the region's top 15 scorers.
He then served as head men's soccer coach at Bryant & Stratton College from 2018-21, where he launched the institution's first men's soccer program. In just its second season, the Bobcats advanced to the USCAA National Semifinals while establishing a strong foundation for success both on the field and in the classroom.
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Bogue has enjoyed a successful career at the high school and club levels. As head boys varsity coach at Shaker High School, he guided the program to two league championships, with the 2004-05 team finishing ranked fourth in New York State and 13th nationally. Since 2009, Bogue has also served as a head coach with FC Dutchmen Premier/Academy, developing boys and girls from the youth levels through U23 competition.
Bogue earned his bachelor's degree in History, with Department Distinction, from Hartwick College before earning his master's degree in Special Education, also with Department Distinction, from Sage College. He holds New York State teaching certifications in History and Special Education as well as a USSF D License and Brazilian C License.
