Cole Platt Named Assistant Sports Information Director at Cobleskill

Cobleskill, N.Y. – SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech Athletics has announced the appointment of Cole Platt as Assistant Sports Information Director and Assistant Baseball Coach.

A 2026 graduate of SUNY Cobleskill, Platt joins the Fighting Tigers after spending the past four years as a student-athlete and game day operations student worker within the Athletic Department.
"We're excited to welcome Cole to our athletic department in this new role," said Sports Information Director Matt Williams. "He did an outstanding job during his time as a student-worker and internship, and his knowledge of our department, strong work ethic, and passion for Cobleskill Athletics make him a great fit."

During his collegiate baseball career from 2023-26, Platt helped lead the Fighting Tigers to four consecutive conference tournament appearances and earned a spot on the 2026 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) All-Tournament Team.

"I am excited for the opportunity to work within the Cobleskill Athletic Department and honored to begin my career with the Fighting Tiger community, where I have made countless memories over the past four years," said Platt. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the department and look forward to contributing to the success of our student-athletes and athletic programs."

While a student-athlete, Platt gained valuable experience within the Athletic Department as a game day operations student worker for three years. He served in a variety of roles, including statistics, scoreboard and shot clock operation, and event management. He also completed an internship within the department, focusing on sports information, game day operations, scheduling, and athletic administration.

Prior to transferring to SUNY Cobleskill, Platt began his collegiate career at Hartwick College, where he was a member of the football program.

Platt earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Sport Management from SUNY Cobleskill in 2026.
