Canton, N.Y..: SUNY Cobleskill freshman decathlete Zach Haskins, Warnerville, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, posted a career best score of 5714 points in the decathlon to place fifth overall at 2016 New York State College Track Conference (NYSCTC) Combined Events Meet hosted by St. Lawrence University on Sunday May 1 and Monday May 2 at the Saints' Merrick-Pickard Track.

Haskins a consistent performer throughout the 10 events with exceptional efforts in: the discus which he won with a toss of 106 3", in the Long Jump placing second with a leap of 19' 3 ½" and the 1500 meter run in which he placed third with a time of 4:44.15 to earn All-NYSCTC Team honors.

The Fighting Tigers will next be in action at the 2016 NYSCTC Outdoor Championships hosted by RPI at Harkness Field in Troy, N.Y. on Friday May 6 beginning at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday May 7 beginning at 10:00 a.m.
