Morrisville, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill western equestrian team traveled to the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) 2020 Zone 2 Region 3 Championship on Saturday hosted by Morrisville State at the college's riding center. The Fighting Tigers captured three individual regional championships and three second place finishes at the event.
Cobleskill received regional titles from: Junior
Emma Jenks, Millerton, N.Y., Upton Lake High School, in Rookie B Western Horsemanship, sophomore
Hailey Hults, Benson, V.T., Fair Haven Union High School, in Level II Western Horsemanship and junior
Mikalla Tweedie, Harford, N.Y., Marathon High School, in Level I Western Horsemanship.
The Fighting Tigers also received second place finishes from: senior
Baylee Reader, Rome, N.Y. Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School, in Open Reining, freshman
Jillian Peek, Schuylerville, N.Y., Schuylerville High School, in Level II Open Western Horsemanship, junior
Anna Ward, Hartford, N.Y. , Hartford Central School, in Level I Open Western Horsemanship.
In the region's overall standings
Baylee Reader placed second overall with a total of 67 points to earn the IHSA Region III Reserve Point Rider Title as Cobleskill finished in second place in the regional standings trailing Morrisville State by a 222-to-211 margin.
Qualified Fighting Tigers team members will next compete at the 2020 Zone 2 Championships hosted by Southern Nazarene University on Saturday March 21
st and Sunday March 22
nd in Bethany, Ok.
