The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that senior Nick Thomas, Scotia, N.Y., Scotia-Glenville High School, a member of the men's baseball program and freshman Emily Wisniewski, Southbury, Conn., Nonnewaug High School, been named the department's Fighting Tiger Athletes-of-the-Week for the week ending March 28, 2021.

Thomas went 3-for-8 in the baseball team's season opening doubleheader split with regional power SUNY Cortland on the road in Cortland, N.Y. on Saturday afternoon. The Scotia-Glenville High School alumnus's second game two-run home run provided the margin of victory in the Fighting Tigers second game 5-4 victory over the Red Dragons after the home team took the opener by a 9-0 margin.

For the afternoon the Scotia-Glenville High School alumnus was 3-fo-8 at the plate with a homer, two runs batted in and a run scored as Cobleskill opened the campaign at 1-1 on the year.

Wisniewski was the volleyball team's top performer in the Fighting Tigers opening season losses to SUNY Delhi on Sunday afternoon at the Iorio Gymnasium averaging: 1.88 points, 1.25 kills and 0.50 aces per set in eight sets played while amassing a hitting percentage of .200 on the day as Cobleskill opens the season at 0-2.
