Five Fighting Tigers Earn NAC Baseball All-Conference Honors

Cobleskill, NY – The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced its 2026 baseball all-conference awards, with five SUNY Cobleskill players earning First Team honors and a sixth recognized for sportsmanship.

The Fighting Tigers placed five players on the All-NAC First Team, highlighted by their middle infield duo of senior shortstop Jeffrey Gutierrez (Bronx, NY) and senior second baseman Ryan Lansing (Cooperstown, NY). In the outfield, sophomore Tony Woodie (West Palm Beach, FL) and senior Logan Firment (Andes, NY) earned First Team recognition, while senior pitcher Connor Mulligan (Cheshire, NY) was honored for his standout work on the mound.

Head Coach Austin Straub praised the selections as a reflection of the program's development and consistency.

"It shows the type of talent we've been able to recruit and develop at Cobleskill. As coaches we always believe in our players' abilities, but to be recognized by our competitors truly shows the respect for these individuals' talent and the success they had this year."

The middle infield pairing of Lansing and Gutierrez was a cornerstone of Cobleskill's success, providing steady defense up the middle and setting the tone offensively. Gutierrez earned his second All-NAC honor after leading the team with 54 hits (tied program record), finishing the season batting .367 with an .864 OPS and a .429 on-base percentage. He added 37 runs, 18 stolen bases, 12 RBIs, and 10 doubles. In the field, he anchored the defense with 93 assists, turned 15 double plays, and posted a .943 fielding percentage.

Lansing matched that production with a breakout season at the plate, leading the team and conference with 21 stolen bases and 18 doubles. He batted .356 with a .943 OPS and a .429 on-base percentage, totaling 52 hits, 37 runs, and 32 RBIs, along with a triple and a home run. Defensively, he was part of 16 double plays, recorded 66 assists, and posted a .970 fielding percentage.

"Best MINF tandem in the conference and probably in program history. Their athleticism showed up every day, making run-saving plays all season. Ryan had a breakout year offensively and really helped shape our lineup with his ability to get on base and drive in runs, leading the conference in doubles and stolen bases. Jeff was consistently recognized by opposing coaches for his energy, style of play, and leadership. A lot of our big offensive moments started with him setting the tone or keeping innings alive. He also finished tied for the most hits in a single season in program history."

In the outfield, Firment and Woodie formed one of the most dangerous run-producing duos in the NAC. Firment put together the best season of his career, hitting .343 with a 1.071 OPS, .649 slugging percentage, and .422 on-base percentage. He totaled 46 hits, 35 RBIs, 10 doubles, seven home runs, and five triples, while also swiping nine bases.

Woodie delivered one of the most dominant offensive seasons in program history, setting single-season records with 10 home runs and 57 RBIs. The sophomore led the Tigers in batting average (.400), OPS (1.243), slugging percentage (.728), on-base percentage (.525), and runs scored (42). He added nine doubles, a triple, and was a perfect 11-for-11 on the basepaths.

"One of the most dangerous offensive tandems outfields in the country, Logan and Tony combined for 17 home runs and 92 RBIs. Logan saved his best for last during his senior year and made our middle part of the lineup extremely tough for opposing pitchers to navigate. Tony's 2026 season will go down arguably as one of the best ever in program history as Tony broke our single season homerun and RBI records. The impact Tony made as a transfer to our program really was the driving force behind the success we had as a team."

On the mound, Mulligan earned his first All-NAC selection after turning in a reliable senior campaign. He posted a 4-1 record in conference play with a 1.89 ERA over 33.1 innings, striking out 19 while consistently giving the Tigers quality innings and keeping opposing lineups in check.

"Connor was our most consistent starter in 2026. We trusted him in the fourth game of every weekend because he could give us length and keep us in the game, which allowed us to be more aggressive with our bullpen earlier in the series. After spending three years primarily out of the bullpen, he stepped into a starting role as a senior and went 4-1 in conference play with a sub-2.00 ERA."

Also recognized was senior Jesus Sarda (Colonie, NY), who was named to the 2026 NAC Baseball Sportsmanship Team. The award honors student-athletes who demonstrate outstanding sportsmanship and make a positive impact on the game.

Tony Woodie and Cole Platt were also named to the NAC All-Tournament Team for their performances in the Championship Tournament.
