Tony Woodie Male Athlete of the Year 2026

Tony Woodie Named Cobleskill Male Athlete of the Year

Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department honored sophomore Tony Woodie (West Palm Beach, FL) of the Fighting Tiger baseball team as the 2025-26 Stanley Nevins Outstanding Male Athlete Award during the department's annual Athletics Awards Ceremony held earlier this spring.

Woodie received the Stanley Nevins Award, presented annually to the department's top male athlete in recognition of outstanding athletic performance over the past year.

Woodie put together one of the most dominant offensive seasons in SUNY Cobleskill baseball history, rewriting the program record book while helping lead the Fighting Tigers back to postseason play. The sophomore set new single-season program records with 10 home runs and 57 RBIs, establishing himself as one of the top hitters in the region.

A First Team All-North Atlantic Conference selection, Woodie led Cobleskill in batting average (.400), on-base percentage (.525), slugging percentage (.728), OPS (1.243) and runs scored (42). He also finished the season with nine doubles, one triple and went a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen base attempts.

Woodie's standout season also earned him regional recognition, as he was selected to the D3baseball.com All-Region 1 Second Team. The honor capped a historic spring for the Fighting Tiger outfielder and further solidified his place among the top offensive players in Region 1.

Head baseball coach Austin Straub reflected on Woodie's impact and what the award means for both Woodie and the program.

"Tony winning the "Male Athlete of the Year" sums up exactly how impactful his 2026 season was to our program and our athletic department. Tony broke our single season records for Home Runs with 10 and RBIs with 57 and OPS with a 1.243. Receiving end of the year accolades for his play on the field, Tony was a NAC 1st team all-conference member and recognized at the national level by d3baseball.com with a 2nd team All-Region nod. I am proud for Tony and proud for our program to be honored with this years Male Athlete of the Year recipient."

Woodie's record-setting production, consistency at the plate and postseason honors made him a deserving recipient of the 2025-26 SUNY Cobleskill Male Athlete of the Year award.
