Waterville, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's baseball team had five players earn 2021 post-season honors from the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). In their first year of conference membership the Fighting Tigers captured the league's Western Division Title by posting a 14-7 overall record including a 10-4 record in conference action.
Four Cobleskill players earned Second Team All-NAC Team honors as senior outfield
Nick Thomas, Scotia, N.Y., Scotia-Glenville High School/Hudson Valley Community College, senior outfielder
Jayson Maxwell, Newport, N.Y., Notre Dame High School, senior pitcher
Jarrod Williams, Baldwinsville, N.Y., C.W. Baker High School/Finger Lakes Community College, and freshman utility player/pitcher
Stephen Tejada, Queens, N.Y., High School for Construction, were voted to the team by the league's coaches while senior infielder
Chris Kordziel, Rotterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School/Hudson Valley Community College, was named to the league's Sportsmanship Team for his performance on the field, in the classroom and in the realm of community service.

Lance Ratchford had high praise for his all-conference honorees and the impact that they have had on the program.
"We are extremely proud of these young men who have had outstanding seasons for us and the impact they have had on our program. They have given us the opportunity to play for a conference title which has been our goal since day one."
Senior
Nick Thomas was the driving force for the Fighting Tigers at the plate this season batting .397 in 21 appearances with an on-base percentage of .476. Thomas belted five home runs on the year to go with six doubles and three triples while scoring 18 runs and driving in 15 runs. Defensively the outfielder from Scotia-Glenville High School posted a .979 fielding average in 48 chances during the year.
Senior outfielder
Jayson Maxwell was the team's top run producer during the season batting .329 with an on-base average of .412 in 21 appearances. Maxwell hit four home runs and ripped eight doubles on the year which led to 21 runs batted in and 19 runs scored. In the outfield the Newport, N.Y. native posted a .971 fielding average for 35 total chances.
Senior pitcher/first baseman
Jarrod Williams was one of the mainstays of the Fighting Tiger pitching staff this season posting a 2-1 overall record and a 2.29 ERA in six appearances this year. The Baldwinsville, N.Y. native struck out 30 and walked only11 in 35.1 innings in six appearances on the year. At the plate he batted .267with six RBI and three runs scored while posting an impressive .989 fielding percentage in 90 total chances in 15 appearances this season.
Freshman utility player
Stephen Tejada was one of the top newcomers to the NAC this year excelling at the plate and the mound as the Bronx, N.Y. native in 15 appearance batted .452 with a .521 on-base percentage to go with 16 runs scored, six runs batted in, six stolen bases and four doubles. On the mound Tejada went 2-0 in four appearances with a 3.10 ERA in 20.1 innings of work striking out 18 while walking seven.
Senior infielder
Chris Kordziel not only excelled in the classroom and community but on the field as well as the Rotterdam, N.Y. native batted .279 with a .395 on-base average to go with 11 runs scored and seven RBI. Kordziel also tied for the league lead in stolen bases with 10 in 11 attempts this year while posting an .873 fielding average in 71 chances during the season.
The Fighting Tigers will return to action this week when they travel to Bangor, Maine to play for the 2021 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship, and the league's automatic NCAA National Championship bid, hosted by Husson University at the Eagles' Harold Alfond Diamond. The best two-of-three series will begin with a pair of games on Thursday May 20 beginning at 12:00 p.m. followed by a tentatively scheduled 3:00 p.m. contest. If necessary the tournament will play a potential deciding game on Friday May 21 beginning at 12:00 p.m.
