Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that first-year midfielder Cater Ciavardoni, Latham, N.Y., Shaker High School, a member of the men's soccer team has been named the program's Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week for the week ending September 26.

The freshman midfielder scored the team's game winning goal with 0.6 seconds remaining in regulation in the team's 2-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory over visiting Northern Vermont University-Lyndon. Ciavardonia out jumped multiple defenders in the goal area to convert a header off a corner kick from junior midfielder Ben Kessler, East Northport, N.Y., to give Cobleskill the conference victory and improve to 2-6 overall on the year including a 1-2 mark in NAC play.

For the year the Shaker High School alumnus has scored two goals and passed out an assist in eight starts this season for the Fighting Tigers for five total points to date.

Cobleskill will return to action on Wednesday, September 29, when they travel to Saratoga Springs, N.Y. for a non-conference meeting with the Thoroughbreds of Skidmore College with kick-off at 7:00 p.m.
