Marcy, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross-country team opened the 2021 season on Saturday by competing as an incomplete squad at the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational hosted by the Wildcats on their campus course.
Competing in her first intercollegiate event, freshman
Jenna Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, turned in an impressive opening effort by completing the 4000-meter course in a time of 20:13.5 to place 25
th overall in a field of 57 runners to lead the Fighting Tigers.
The Orange & Black will next compete at home on Saturday September 11 when they host the Steven A. Warde Invitational beginning at 10:30 a.m.
