Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross country team has been ranked fourth in the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) 2022 Women's Pre-Championship Meet Coaches Poll among the 10 teams entered in the field by the league's coaches. The NAC will conduct the league's 2021 Championship Meet on Saturday October 29 hosted by SUNY Canton in Canton, N.Y. on the Kangaroos campus cross country course beginning at 11:00 a.m. 

The Fighting Tigers will be by the trio of sophomore Jenna Swyers, Peru, N.Y., Peru High School, who has earned NAC Runner-of-the-Week honors during the season, sophomore Katherine Ledermann, Guilderland, N.Y., Guilderland High School, and first-year Alyssa Freeguard, Argyle, N.Y., Argyle High School, who has earned the NAC Runner-of-the-Week and NAC Rookie-of-the-Week honors during the year.

On his team's ranking Cobleskill Head Coach Mitch Tomaszkiewicz had an interesting perspective on the team's ranking and the upcoming championship meet.

"This is an exciting time of the year if you are a cross country runner and it should be an exciting championship event on the women's side. As to our pre-meet ranking, I think that my learned colleagues have been extremely generous in their evaluation of our accomplishments this year. We will try to justify their confidence in us on Saturday."
