Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department announced today that
Morgan Flamholtz has been named the new Fighting Tiger softball coach. Flamholtz comes to Cobleskill after serving as the assistant coach for SUNY Brockport the past four seasons. She succeeds Liz Neubinski who left the program to accept the head coaching position at Skidmore College.
The new Fighting Tiger Head Coach spoke about how excited she is for the opportunity to become a head coach and to be taking over a program that has put together back-to-back North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division Championships.
"I am excited to come to Cobleskill because I feel that I am ready for the next step in my professional development. I come from a SUNY school, I played at a SUNY school,and I've coached at a SUNY school, this is where I want to be." Said Flamholtz. "I want to keep the program's momentum going and I would love to get to the point where we could eventually be hosting the conference tournament."
Flamholtz comes to the Fighting Tigers after spending the past four seasons as an assistant coach at SUNY Brockport under Head Coach John Dumaw where she spent her college career playing catcher/third base for the Golden Eagles. While at Brockport, she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology/Sport Science/Physical Education in 2018 and a Master's Degree in Physical Education/Athletic Administration in 2021. Additionally, during her time at Brockport, she served as an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Physical Education.
Prior to her collegiate playing career, the new Fighting Tiger mentor was a prep standout at Beacon High School in Beacon, N.Y. where she was a three-time all-conference selection and a All-Section I Team selection during her sophomore and junior seasons. During her high school career, she also spent her summers, for eight years, playing for the elite Beacon Xtreme travel program.
