Cobleskill Women's Cross Country Wraps Up Season at NCAA Regionals

Peters leads Fighting Tigers with a 33rd place finish

Fredonia, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross country team capped their 2024 season with a 15th-place finish at the NCAA Division III Niagara Regionals, hosted at SUNY Fredonia on Saturday morning.
 
Leading the way for the Fighting Tigers, sophomore Lilianna Peters (Hinsdale, NY/Allegany-Limestone) placed 33rd, completing the course in 23:29.8. Junior Alyssa Freeguard (Argyle, NY) was the next to finish, placing 44th with a time of 23:44.0.
 
First-year runners Liz Vaughn (Chemung, NY/Waverly) and Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY) also contributed, placing 119th in 27:00.6 and 122nd in 27:08.0, respectively. Senior Kathrine Ledermann  (Altamont, NY/Guilderland) followed closely behind, finishing 124th with a time of 27:13.6.
 
Rounding out the Cobleskill runner was Madison Binette (Lewistown, Me) in 148th place with a tie of 30:47.1 and Eva Sgambettera (Cambridge, NY) with a time of 31:03.5 in 150th place.
 
This regional meet marks the conclusion of a strong season for Cobleskill's women's cross country program.
