Cobleskill Women's Soccer Players Earn NAC All-Conference Honors

Jessica Carney and Kayleigh Bryant Earn First Team All-Conference Honors

Cobleskill, NY: The North Atlantic Conference (NAC) announced its women's soccer all-conference awards for the 2024 season, with three Fighting Tigers players recognized for their performances.

Junior midfielder Jessica Carney (Hopkinton, NH) and junior defender Kayleigh Bryant (Schenevus, NY) were named to the NAC First Team All-Conference for their standout play this season. Carney, who started in eight games, made her presence felt in every outing. Known for her leadership on the field, she was consistently the team's most impactful player. Bryant, who appeared in eight games with seven starts, anchored the defense and played a key role in keeping the Fighting Tigers competitive in multiple close games. Interim Head Coach Lucia Liverio commended both players for their efforts.

"Jessie was the glue in our midfield," said Liverio. "Her contributions go well beyond stats, her work ethic and commitment are a big reason she earned this recognition. Kayleigh was our last line of defense and made a significant impact including multiple goal saving tackles. She stepped up to shut down opponents during critical moments."

First-year goalkeeper Samantha Rotundo (New Egypt, NJ) received honorable mention. Rotundo, who transitioned from field player to goalkeeper midway through the season, made an immediate impact, finishing second in the NAC with a .826 save percentage and third in saves per game at 7.13. She posted two of the conference's top four save performances, recording 24 saves against Ramapo College and 19 against SUNY ESF. Liverio praised Rotundo's adaptability and contributions.

"Sam initially played on the field but switched to goal, where she quickly excelled," said Liverio. "She even won NAC Defensive Player of the Week for her 19-save performance against ESF and continued to be a game-changer."

Rounding out Cobleskill's honorees, junior goalkeeper Dory Gosselin (Whitehall, NY) was named to the NAC Women's Soccer Sportsmanship Team. This award highlights players who exemplify outstanding sportsmanship and integrity. Liverio recognized Gosselin's influence on and off the field.

"Dory's dedication and commitment to her team were evident every day. She pushes her teammates, communicates constantly, and brings energy that everyone values," said Liverio. "She's exactly the kind of player every team wants."

These all-conference honors highlight the dedication and hard work of Cobleskill's athletes this season.
