Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill men's soccer program hosted a free pre-season clinic for members of the Worcester Central School boys' and girls' soccer programs at the college's Cobleskill Soccer/Lacrosse Complex during the week.
The clinic was conducted over a three-day period from August 12
th thru the 14
th under the direction of Cobleskill Head Coach
Joseph Machado in association with the Wolverines' Booster Club. This marks the third year that the Fighting Tigers have paired with the Wolverines to conduct the clinic.
According to Coach Machado the clinic is a great way to start the 2024 season for both the Fighting Tigers and the local players who attend.
"It is always great to work with local players as a way for us to get ready for the upcoming season. This is our third year putting on the clinic with Worcester as a way to help them prepare for their seasons and for us to start adding young people to our fan base."
Clinic participants were drilled in basic soccer fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, shooting, positioning and team play.
The Fighting Tigers will open their 2024 campaign on Friday August 30 when they travel to Westfield, Ma. for a non-league meeting with the Owls of Westfield State University with kick-off beginning at 7:00 p.m. followed by the team's home opener on Sunday September 1 versus the Bears the Cannoneers of the Pratt Institute at the Cobleskill Soccer/Lacrosse Complex with kick-off at 12:00 p.m.
