Cobleskill Set to Host 2025 NAC Men’s Golf Championship

COBLESKILL, N.Y. – The SUNY Cobleskill men's golf team has been ranked fifth in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) 2025 Pre-Championship Poll, as voted on by the league's coaches. This year's NAC Championship carries special meaning for the Fighting Tigers, as they'll have the chance to compete for a conference title on their home turf — the 6,163-yard, par-70 Cobleskill Golf and Country Club.

After finishing fourth at last year's championship, Cobleskill has shown steady improvement this fall and will look to capitalize on home-course familiarity. Head Coach Brock Ricketts believes that advantage could be the key difference.

"Not many schools get the opportunity to host their Conference Championship at their home country club, so that gets us excited just thinking about it," said Ricketts. "Cobleskill is a very unique golf course — it can take a while to get used to. We're going to rely on our course knowledge to carry us to where we want to be at the end of the tournament."

The Fighting Tigers return three players from last year's lineup that placed fourth with a 673 team card. Senior Joshua House (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.), who earned Second Team All-Conference honors and finished eighth overall in 2024, will once again lead the team. House has been in fine form this fall, posting a tournament victory and multiple top-10 finishes.

Isaac Walker (Roxbury, N.Y.), who placed 18th at last year's event, and Benjamin Casola (Oneonta, N.Y.), who finished 38th, round out a trio of experienced returners expected to play a major role.

"Throughout the season I saw a team come together and have stretches of really good golf," said Ricketts. "These guys just want to get better every day, which as a coach is exactly what you want to see. We knew we were hosting the Championship, and that definitely raised the team's work ethic. When Josh is on his game, he's as good as anyone in the conference. Isaac and Ben have that experience, and they're ready for this moment. Our newcomers - Bruno Groth (Andover, N.J.) and James Longwell (Little Falls, N.Y.) - have worked tremendously hard this fall and are eager to make their mark."

The 2025 NAC Championship will take place Saturday, October 11, and Sunday, October 12, at the Cobleskill Golf and Country Club in Cobleskill, N.Y. The team champion will earn an automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship. The tournament will tee off at 10:00 a.m. on both days.
