Marcy, N.Y. – The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross country team opened its 2025 season on Saturday morning at the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational, racing the 4K course against a competitive regional field.
The Fighting Tigers were paced by sophomore
Gabrielle Waite (Pulaski, NY.), who clocked 17:40.7 to earn a top-10 finish in seventh place overall, averaging 6:47 per mile in her season debut. Sophomore
Gillian Miner (Saranac, NY) followed with a strong run of 18:49.0 to place 15th, while senior
Alyssa Freeguard (Argyle, NY) crossed in 19:16.8 to secure 18th place.
Cobleskill's depth showed through the middle of the pack, as sophomore
Madison Binette (Lewistown, Me) placed 20th in 19:31.5 and sophomore
Molly Repicky (Schoharie, NY) was close behind in 19:39.6 for 23rd. Sophomore
Liz Vaughn (Chemung, NY/Waverly) added a time of 21:30.1, while freshman
Isabella Baier (McKinney, TX/Frisco Emerson) made her collegiate debut in 24:44.8.
Ivy Stensland (Gilbertsville, NY/Gilbertsville-Mount Upton) finished 35
th with a time of 26:15.2 and
Natalie Gardener (Interlaken, NY/South Seneca) placed 38
th with a time of 28:56.5. With five runners finishing in the top 25, the Tigers established a strong foundation in their season opener.
