Canton, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill men's golf team competed at the two-day St. Lawrence Invitational this past weekend, finishing 11th overall at the Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course.
Leading the Fighting Tigers was
Joshua House (Saratoga Springs, NY), who turned in an impressive fifth-place finish with a two-day score of +6. After opening with a 77 (+5) on Saturday, House surged up the leaderboard on Sunday with a round of 73 (+1), climbing 11 spots. Across the two days, he recorded seven birdies, four in the opening round and three in the finale.
Benjamin Casola (Oneonta, NY) followed in 53rd place with a +23 total, improving with an 81 (+9) on Sunday after carding an 82 (+14) in the opening round, highlighted by two birdies in his final round.
Bruno Groth (Andover, NJ) placed 57th overall, shooting a 170 (+26) with rounds of 87 (+15) and 83 (+11), including two birdies on Saturday.
Isaac Walker (Roxbury, NY) finished 63rd with a +36 score, posting an 89 (+17) on day one and a 91 (+19) on day two, with one birdie in the opening round.
Rounding out the Cobleskill lineup,
James Longwell (Little Falls, NY) and
William Olbrich (Monroeville, NJ) tied for 66th at +43. Longwell recorded rounds of 94 (+22) and 93 (+21), while Olbrich shot a 97 (+25) on Saturday, highlighted by a birdie, before improving to a 90 (+18) on Sunday.
