Morgan Flamholtz-Isaksen Steps Down as Cobleskill Softball Head Coach

COBLESKILL, NY – Morgan Flamholtz-Isaksen has stepped down as head coach of the SUNY Cobleskill softball program after four seasons to accept the head coaching position at Alfred State College.

"We want to thank Morgan for her dedication and contributions to our softball program over the past four years and wish her success in her next role," said SUNY Cobleskill Director of Athletics John Czarnecki. "We will begin our search for her successor immediately to build upon the momentum we have and bring the team forward into its next chapter."

"I'm incredibly grateful for my time here at Cobleskill and the opportunity I've had to grow both personally and professionally," said Flamholtz-Isaksen. "The relationships, memories, and experiences I've gained will always mean a lot to me, and I'm thankful to the players, staff, and community for making my time here so special."

Flamholtz-Isaksen compiled an overall record of 73-73-1 during her four seasons at the helm, including a 40-15 mark in conference play. Under her leadership, the Fighting Tigers qualified for the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament in all four seasons, highlighted by the program's first appearance in the NAC Championship Game in 2025. Her teams also earned 20 All-Conference selections, including a program-record seven honorees in 2025.

After leading Cobleskill to a postseason appearance in her first season in 2023, Flamholtz-Isaksen guided the Tigers to a 19-17 record in 2024, marking the program's first winning season since 2015. The Fighting Tigers also finished second in the NAC West Division standings, continuing the program's upward trajectory.

The 2025 campaign marked a historic season for Cobleskill, as the Fighting Tigers posted a then-program-record 22 victories and completed NAC regular-season play with a perfect 12-0 conference record to capture the NAC West Division title. Cobleskill advanced to the NAC Championship Game for the first time in program history, capping off one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Tigers' accomplishments were further recognized with a program-record seven First Team All-NAC selections, along with the conference's Rookie of the Year and Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards.

Flamholtz-Isaksen continued that success in 2026, guiding Cobleskill to another 22-win campaign to match the program's single-season victories record. The Fighting Tigers recorded 20 regular-season wins, their highest total since 2015, and secured a fourth consecutive NAC postseason appearance.

SUNY Cobleskill will now turn its attention to identifying the next head coach to lead the Fighting Tigers softball program.
