JOHNSON, VT: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team swept Vermont State Johnson in a doubleheader Saturday at Johnson, Vt., by scores of 4-2 and 10-4. The Tigers will look to carry the momentum into Sunday's doubleheader against Vermont State Lyndon.

Game One: Trailing 2-0 heading into the seventh inning, the Tigers rallied for four runs in the final frame to earn a come-from-behind victory in the opener.

Sammy Fausti sparked the winning rally by reaching on a triple and coming around to score on a Kylie Rattigan RBI that followed a third-base error. Avery Prievo then singled to drive in Rattigan, pushing Cobleskill ahead 3-2. After a pair of walks to Aliyah Neeser and Gabriella Wendelken extended the inning, the Tigers added a fourth run to seal the win.

Fausti led the offense with a 2-for-4 performance that included a triple and two RBI. Rattigan and Prievo each chipped in two hits and an RBI of their own. Taegyn Hart went 2-for-3 as the designated player.

Wendelken was superb in the circle, going the distance and striking out 11 batters on 108 pitches while allowing just two earned runs on five hits and two walks over seven complete innings.

Game Two: The Tigers wasted no time taking command in the nightcap, erupting for five runs in the third inning and adding two more in each of the fourth and fifth to pull away decisively.

Cobleskill finished with 11 hits on the afternoon. Rattigan drove in two runs, and Fausti and Prievo each contributed an RBI. Jaydaci Chamberlain crossed the plate twice. The Tigers took full advantage of Vermont State Johnson's five errors, which led to five unearned runs.

Madelynn Orosz handled pitching duties in the circle, allowing four runs — one earned — on 12 hits with four strikeouts in a complete-game effort on just 65 pitches.

Up Next: The Tigers will be back in action Sunday for a doubleheader against Vermont State Lyndon.
