LYNDONVILLE, VT:Â The SUNY Cobleskill softball team made a long Sunday in Lyndonville look easy, taking all three games of a tripleheader against Vermont State Lyndon by scores of 27-1, 24-0, and 16-4 to wrap up the 2026 campaign in preparation for the NAC Softball Tournament this coming week.
GAME ONE:Â Cobleskill wasted no time getting things going, putting three on the board in the first and following it up with a 17-run second inning that put the game well out of reach. A seven-run fourth sealed the deal, and the Tigers walked away with the win in five innings.
Taegyn Hart was locked in all day, going a perfect 5-for-5 with a double, three RBI, and four runs scored. Kylie Rattigan scored three times, Avery Prievo went multi-hit and came around four times, and Sammy Fausti drove in three. With 23 hits and 10 walks, there wasn't a weak spot in the order all afternoon.
Jillian Jensen handled things efficiently in the circle, giving up just one run on two hits while striking out four on 73 pitches.
GAME TWO:Â The Tigers kept their foot on the gas in Game 2, scoring five in the first, ten in the second, and adding four more in the fourth and five in the fifth to finish at 24-0. Cobleskill drew 15 walks to go along with 14 hits, keeping the pressure on every inning.
Rattigan had a big afternoon, going 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. Fausti drove in three, and Prievo continued her productive day with another multi-hit game. Hart and Aliyah Neeser were also factors throughout the lineup.
Sam Lawton was outstanding in the circle, spinning a complete-game shutout on 101 pitches with 13 strikeouts and no walks — not allowing a single run across five innings.
GAME THREE:Â Even in the third game of the day, the Tigers didn't let up. Six runs in the first set the tone, and Cobleskill kept adding on through the middle innings before closing it out in the fourth. Nineteen hits spread across the lineup made it a complete team effort.
Rattigan paced the offense with a 4-for-5 afternoon, an RBI, and three runs scored. Prievo was a handful all day — three hits, a walk, a stolen base, and four runs scored. Jaydaci Chamberlain started in the circle, going five innings and holding Lyndon to two earned runs.
A fitting end to the regular season for a Tigers squad that won six of their last eight games, closing things out with three wins on the road in a single afternoon.
