Delhi, N.Y. – The SUNY Cobleskill men's golf team opened its 2026 season on Saturday at the Bronco Invitational, hosted by SUNY Delhi at the College Golf Course at Delhi.
Newcomer
Anthony Zysk (Little Falls, NY) led the Fighting Tigers in his Cobleskill debut, firing a round of 77 (+6) to finish tied for 16th in the 51-player field. Zysk put together a steady round with 11 pars and added a birdie on the par-5 third hole to highlight his first collegiate outing for Cobleskill.
Junior
Benjamin Casola (Oneonta, NY) also turned in a solid opening round, carding an 81 (+10) to finish tied for 31st overall. Casola stayed consistent throughout the day, recording 10 pars.
Junior
Bruno Groth (Andover, NJ) finished just one stroke behind Casola with an 82 (+11), placing 35th overall. Groth recorded seven pars during his round to give the Tigers another steady score in the lineup.
Senior
James Longwell (Little Falls, NY) added a round of 90 (+19), highlighted by six pars, while newcomer
Dylan Brownson (Chittenango, NY) rounded out the Cobleskill lineup with a 106 (+35) in his first appearance for the Fighting Tigers.
The season-opening event gave Cobleskill its first competitive round of the fall and an opportunity to settle into tournament play before returning to the course again on Sunday.
