Delhi, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill men's golf team wrapped up its weekend at SUNY Delhi with a fifth-place finish at the Bronco Fall Tournament, hosted at the par-71, 6,405-yard College Golf Course at Delhi.
Junior
Benjamin Casola (Oneonta, NY) led the Fighting Tigers with a 78 (+7), finishing tied for 11th overall and just outside the top 10. Casola put together a steady round with 10 pars and added a birdie on the par-5 10th hole.
Joey Olbrich turned in a strong season debut, carding an 80 (+9) to finish tied for 19th overall. Olbrich recorded nine pars on the day, while teammate
Bruno Groth (Andover, NJ) matched him with an 80 (+9) and 10 pars to also finish tied for 19th.
Anthony Zysk (Little Falls, NY) and
James Longwell (Little Falls, NY) finished just one stroke behind, each posting an 81 (+10) to tie for 23rd overall. Zysk led Cobleskill with a team-high 11 pars, while Longwell carded six pars and a team-high two birdies. Longwell birdied the par-3 14th before closing his round in style with another birdie on the par-5 18th.
Cobleskill's balanced scoring helped the Tigers secure a fifth-place team finish as four golfers finished within three strokes of one another.
