Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's softball team suffered through a long afternoon at Fighting Tiger Park on Tuesday afternoon dropping a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) games to the visiting Wildcats of SUNY Polytechnic Institute by scores of 15-0 and 8-4. With the losses Cobleskill falls to 2-10 overall including a 1-5 mark in league play while the Wildcats improve to 7-9 overall with a 2-4 record versus league opponents.
In the opener the Wildcats touched up Fighting Tiger pitchers for 15 hits and six walks on their way to the victory.
The lone Cobleskill hit in the opener came off the bat of junior
Jaimee Lord, Mechanicville, N.Y. Ballston Spa High School, in the bottom of the fourth inning as part of a 1-for-2 effort.
In the nightcap the Fighting Tigers committed three errors which led to three unearned Wildcat runs in the top of the fourth inning which extend the Poly Technic lead to 8-4 and effectively put the game out of reach.
Jaimee Lord continued her hot hitting going 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs scored while sophomore second baseman
Georgiana Crisci, Walden, N.Y., Valley Central High School, was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple, a run scored and a RBI. Junior right fielder
Kaitlyn Clute, Saratoga Springs, N.Y., Schuylerville High School, was also a factor in the game going 2-for-3 with a double and a RBI.
Cobleskill will next be in action on Wednesday, April 11
th, when they travel to Marcy, N.Y. to once again face SUNY Polytechnic for a pair of NEAC games beginning at 3:00 p.m.
