Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women' s cross country team posted a score of 21 points to win the team title at their own 2019 Fighting Tiger Invitational hosted by Cobleskill on Saturday at the college's home cross country course. It was the team's first invitational win of the 2019 season.
Sophomore
Ashley Kubat, Sloansville, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, led the Fighting Tiger attack by winning the race in a season's best time of 24:51.59 over the 6000-meter course followed by sophomore
Natalie Honken, Endicott, N.Y., Seton Catholic High School, who placed third overall in 26:09.78 and freshman
Shania Steria, Boonville, N.Y., Adirondack High School, in fourth place in 26:38.13.
Rounding out the home team's scoring were senior
Tori Stopen, Marcellus, N.Y., Marcellus High School, in sixth place in 27:18.56 and sophomore Ayla Erwin, Jamesville, N.Y., Jamesville-Dewitt High School, in seventh place in a time of 27:32.59 while freshman
Emily Pahl, Schenectady, N.Y., Schalmont High School, who finished in eighth place in 27:43.56 and sophomore
Gabriella Decker, Galway, N.Y., Galway High School, who placed 13
th overall in 29:52.50 ran in displacement roles for the Fighting Tigers.
Cobleskill will return to action on Saturday November 2
nd when they host the 2019 NEAC Cross Country Championships on the college's home cross country course with the women's race beginning at 11:00 a.m. followed by the men's race at 12:00 p.m.
