Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill women's cross country team made an impressive showing on Saturday at their own 2019 Steven A. Warde Invitational hosted by the Fighting Tigers on their campus cross country course. Cobleskill posted a team total of 54 points to place third overall in a field of 14 teams at the event.
Once again the Fighting Tigers put on a strong display of pack running led by sophomore
Ashley Kubat, Sloansville, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, who placed sixth overall in the 90-runner field by completing the 6000-meter course in a time of 26:17.22 followed by her sophomore teammate
Natalie Honken, Endicott, N.Y., Seton Catholic High School, in seventh place in a time of 26:22.68.
Rounding out the scoring for the Orange & Black were: senior
Tori Stopen, Marcellus, N.Y., Marcellus High School, in 13
th place with a time of 27:10.74, sophomore Alya Erwin, Jamesville, N.Y., Jamesville-DeWitt High School, who placed 17
th in a time of 27:34.65, and freshman
Shania Steria, Booneville, N.Y., Adirondack High School, who finished 18
th in 27:34.93.
The Fighting Tigers will next be in action on Saturday September 14
th when they travel to Rochester, N.Y. for the 2019 Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by the University of Rochester at Genesee Valley Park beginning at 11:00 a.m.
