Cazenovia, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill baseball team closed out their regular and North Atlantic Conference (NAC) season on Tuesday afternoon dropping a road doubleheader to the host Wildcats of Cazenovia College by scores of 13-10 and 5-3. With the defeats the Fighting Tigers close the regular season with a 20-18 overall record including an 11-4 mark against conference opponents while the Wildcats close out the campaign with a 11-21 overall record with a 5-10 record in NAC action.
In the opener the Fighting Tigers dug themselves a deep hole falling behind 13-4 after five innings as the Wildcats used their home park to their advantage pounding Cobleskill pitching for 13 hits on the day.
The Orange & Black rallied for six runs in the top of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 13-10 highlighted by a grand slam home run by first year designated hitter

However, that was as close as Cobleskill would come as in the top of the seventh the Wildcats survived after a runner on first and second with one out and the tying run at the plate situation to secure the victory.
 Offensively the visitors were led by
Matt Deall who went 1-for-3 with a walk and the grand slam and by senior right fielder
Samuel Gutierrez, Bayside, N.Y., Martin Van Buren High School/Queensborough Community College, who went 1-for-3 with a walk a home run and two RBI and by senior second baseman Christopher Kordziel, Rotterdam, N.Y., Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons High School/Hudson Valley Community College, who went 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
In the nightcap the Fighting Tigers held a 3-0 lead going into the bottom of the sixth inning when the Wildcats struck for five runs to put the game into the win column.
Senior shortstop
Eddy Garcia, Bronx, N.Y., World View High School, did the bulk of the offensive work for the Orange & Black going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI while right fielder
Matt Deall continued his hot hitting going 2-for-2 including a double, a walk and a run scored. Â
Cobleskill will next be in action on Sunday May 8 when they host the 2022 NAC Baseball Championship Tournament at Fighting Tiger Park beginning at 10:00 a.m. when Husson University meets Thomas College in the opener followed at 1:00 p.m. with the Fighting Tigers meeting the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton at 1:00 p.m.Â
