Cobleskill, N.Y.: The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced today that a pair of SUNY Cobleskill Baseball Team members senior pitcher Devin Lewis, Cobleskill, N.Y., Cobleskill-Richmondville High School, and junior shortstop David Flora, Windsor, N.Y., Windsor High School/Herkimer Community College, have been named to the 2023 NABCA/Rawlings All-Region 1 Third Team.
 
The 2023 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. III All-Region teams and Regional Players-of-the-Year have been announced in all 10 regions. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division III All-America Committee.
 
The talented duo let the Fighting Tigers to their third consecutive North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Western Division Championship with a 13-2 record in league play while posting the program record for most wins in a single season with a 22-15 overall record on the year.
 
In speaking about the talented duo, Cobleskill Austin Straub, the 2023 NAC Baseball Coach-of-the-Year had high praise for their accomplishments.
 
"Devin has always been one of the top left-handed pitchers in the region the past several years so I am extremely proud of him getting this recognition which he deserves and David has emerged as a scary bat in our line-up who exploded on the scene this year and we are already looking forward to next year and what the future has instore for him."
 
This season Devin Lewis was named the 2023 NAC Pitcher-of-the-Year and a First Team NAC All-Western Division Team honoree after a season that saw him Lewis posted a 4-1 record in 12 appearances with a 2.96 earned run average in 48,2 innings of work with 53 strikeouts and only 10 walks while holding opposing hitters to a .216 batting average on the year.
 
For his efforts this year, David Flora was named the 2023 NAC Player-of-the-Yea and a First Team NAC All-Western Division honoree making the move from third base to shortstop with no effect on his offensive production as the Windsor, N.Y. native batted .403 going 48-for-119 at the plate with an on-base percentage of .503. During the campaign he racked up 12 doubles, a triple, six home runs, 10 stolen bases, 37 runs scored and 40 runs batted in with a slugging percentage of .672.
 
Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 36 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include nine divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA, Pacific Association Division, High School, Youth and Travel.
