Zach Ducorsky as Male and Senior Athlete of the Year

Zach Ducorsky Named SUNY Cobleskill Male Athlete of the Year and Senior Athlete of the Year

Cobleskill, NY: The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department hosted its annual Athletics Awards Ceremony earlier this May, where senior Zach Ducorsky (Oceanside, NY) of the Fighting Tiger baseball team was honored as both the Male Athlete of the Year and the Male Senior Athlete of the Year.

Ducorsky received the Nevins Award, presented annually to the department's top male athlete for excellence in athletic performance over the past year. He was also named the Senior Athlete of the Year, an honor given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication, and achievement throughout his Cobleskill career.

A consistent force in the Fighting Tiger lineup, Ducorsky wrapped up one of the most decorated careers in program history with his third consecutive all-conference honor, earning a spot on the All-NAC Second Team in 2025. He was also named to the 2024 NCAA Regional All-Defensive Team, following a First Team All-NAC selection in 2023 and Second Team honors in 2024.

This spring, the speedy outfielder led Cobleskill in nearly every major offensive category, finishing the season with 44 hits, 33 runs, a .367 batting average, and 27 stolen bases. He also tied for the team lead in doubles (8) and triples (2), while posting a .467 slugging percentage and a .428 on-base percentage. His 27 stolen bases led the entire North Atlantic Conference (NAC).

Ducorsky departs SUNY Cobleskill as the program's all-time leader in hits, runs, walks, stolen bases, and on-base percentage—cementing his legacy as one of the most impactful players in Fighting Tiger baseball history. He closed his career with 167 hits, 91 stolen bases, 56 RBIs, 19 doubles, and five triples, while batting .326 with a .382 slugging percentage and a .419 on-base percentage. Defensively, he was a reliable presence in center field, registering just seven errors across four seasons with a .981 fielding percentage, 352 putouts, and 11 assists.

Head baseball coach Austin Straub reflected on Ducorsky's lasting impact on the program.

"Zach has had a tremendous career, and his consistency, leadership, and work ethic set the tone for our program over the past four years," said Straub. "Being recognized three times as an All-Conference player and earning a spot on the NCAA Regional All-Defensive Team speaks to the level at which he played. He once again led us in stolen bases this season and broke our career hits record, finishing as the program's all-time leader in several key categories. Zach's legacy is one of excellence, and he's left a lasting mark on Fighting Tiger baseball."
