Cobleskill, NY – The SUNY Cobleskill Athletic Department recognized junior
Logan Firment (Andes, NY/South Kortright) of the Fighting Tiger baseball team as the 2024-25 Male Scholar Athlete of the Year at the department's annual Athletics Awards Ceremony.
The Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award is presented to the Fighting Tiger student-athlete who has achieved success in competition while demonstrating exceptional commitment to academic excellence.
Firment, a junior outfielder, has been a key contributor for the Tigers since arriving on campus. This season, he helped guide the team to another postseason appearance and earned a spot on the 2025 NAC Baseball All-Tournament Team for his standout play. Over 25 games, he posted a .313 batting average, a .475 slugging percentage, and a .392 on-base percentage, tallying 25 hits, 13 RBIs, four doubles, three home runs, and six stolen bases.
Off the field, Firment has matched his athletic achievements with strong academic performance. A Landscape Contracting major, he holds a 3.70 grade point average and remains a consistent presence on the Dean's List.
