With the cancellation of all spring sports due to COVID-19, leading to the lack of Fighting Tiger Athletes-of-the-week; The Fighting Tiger Athletic Department has decided revisit some of our previous “Athlete’s-of-the-Week” to honor them for their accomplishments.
Cobleskill, N.Y.: The SUNY Cobleskill department of Sport & Exercise announced today that sophomore Zackary Boekeloo, Ballston Spa, N.Y., Home Schooled, a member of the men’s swimming & diving team has been named the athletic program’s Fighting Tiger Athlete-of-the-Week.
The Ballston Spa, N.Y. native captured three league event titles and First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) honors in the: 500-yard freestyle in 4:52.05, 200-yard butterfly in 2:04.63, a new league record, and the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:47.29. Additionally the talented sophomore swam legs of four Cobleskill NEAC relay championship squads: the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:33.86, 400-yard medley relay in 3:53.94, the 200-yard medley relay 1:45.33 and the 800-yard relay in a time of 7:53.23.
Led by Boekeloo the Fighting Tigers placed second overall at the 2020 NEAC Championships.
