Cobleskill, N.Y. – The SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech Athletic Department has announced the appointment of Lukas Baildon as the new head coach of the Fighting Tigers men's lacrosse program.

Baildon returns to New York after spending the past five seasons at Dominican University of California, where he served as offensive coordinator. He also brings familiarity with the SUNYAC, having competed in the conference during his collegiate playing career at SUNY Potsdam.

"It is an honor to be named Head Men's Lacrosse Coach at SUNY Cobleskill Ag & Tech and to be back in upstate New York coaching lacrosse," said Baildon. "It has been a dream come true to be a head coach within the SUNYAC, a conference I have a lot of admiration and respect for. The beautiful location and the opportunity to rebuild a once-historic lacrosse program are what drew me to Cobleskill."

During his time at Dominican, Baildon helped guide the program through its transition from club lacrosse to NCAA Division II competition. He helped the Penguins earn their first MCLA playoff appearance in 2022 and first NCAA postseason appearance in 2025. Baildon also helped develop the program's first MCLA All-Americans and NCAA Academic All-Americans, along with several NCAA All-Conference selections and the 2025 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year.

Prior to Dominican, Baildon served as a graduate assistant coach at Concordia University Irvine, helping the Eagles earn a winning record and qualify for the 2021 MCLA National Invitational Tournament. He also spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Northwood High School in Irvine, helping the program capture its first Pacific Coast League Championship and reach the CIF playoffs in 2021.

"I am excited to bring a culture of hard work rooted in enjoying the process of building something that the players can look back on and be proud of," Baildon said. "I am looking to build a program that is eager to achieve new heights on and off the field."

Baildon began his collegiate playing career at Genesee Community College as part of a nationally ranked NJCAA program before continuing his career at SUNY Potsdam from 2016-18. He was a starter for the Bears and gained firsthand experience competing in the SUNYAC before remaining with the program as a volunteer coach while completing his degree.

Baildon also brings extensive international and box lacrosse experience to Cobleskill. Growing up in Germany, he represented the country at the U19 and senior national team levels and competed in both field and box lacrosse. In 2022, he worked with the Haudenosaunee Women's National Team at the World Lacrosse Women's World Championship and The World Games. Baildon also founded the JFKS Rams girls youth lacrosse program in Germany in 2012.

Baildon graduated from SUNY Potsdam in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in Community Health and a minor in Communications. He earned his master's degree in Athletic Administration and Coaching from Concordia University Irvine in 2021.

Baildon takes over a Fighting Tigers program that finished the 2026 season with a 1-4 overall record.
